Introduces Shea Stick 3000: Shea Butter for
Antiperspirant & Deodorant Stick Products
Newark, NJ, June 27, 2003 - Jarchem Industries,
supplier of specialty ingredients for the cosmetics and personal
care industry introduces Shea Stick 3000, a natural, shea butter
ingredient for antiperspirant and deodorant stick formulations.
Containing a low iodine value, Shea Stick 3000 is perfectly suited
for hot processing stick applications. It also lends structure to
stick formulations, is an excellent solubilizer with most ingredients,
and contains all the benefits of natural shea butter.
Shea butter is a functional lipid derived from the
fruit of the shea tree (butyrospermum parkii), whose natural properties
make it particularly well suited for manufacturers of natural cosmetic,
skincare and personal care products. The superlative moisturizing
properties of shea butter also make Shea Stick 3000 beneficial for
products that will be applied to sensitive underarm skin. Other
advantages include its superior oxidative and crystallization stability,
allowing for successful formulation in the most demanding of applications.
Arthur Hein, Vice President of Jarchem's Specialty Chemical Division
says, "A big challenge for manufacturers in the personal care
industry, has always been how to make an antiperspirant/deodorant
that's powerful enough to be effective, but doesn't irritate delicate
underarm skin. Many manufacturers are also concerned about maintaining
a 'clean' label for their all-natural products. Because Shea Stick
3000 is shea butter-based, it is 100% natural and has moisturizing
qualities that make it an excellent raw material for use in most
sticks. Shea Stick 3000 is the natural ingredient for manufacturers
who are formulating an antiperspirant/deodorant stick, that is gentle
enough for even the most sensitive skin."
