Introduces Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) Product Lines
Newark, NJ, October 5, 2004 -
Jarchem Industries, Inc., supplier of specialty ingredients for
the industrial, chemical, and personal care markets, introduces
an extensive series of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) product lines.
These widely used polymers can be used for a variety of applications
including: pharmaceuticals, personal care, cosmetics, beverages,
adhesives, synthetic resins, fiber dyes, detergents, dye products,
paint and inks, electronic materials, biological engineering material
and others.
The largest polyvinylpyrrolidone product line is the PVP-K Homopolymer
Series (ranging from K12 - K90), used primarily as film-forming
agents and viscosity enhancers in personal care products and as
excipients in pharmaceutical products. They are key components in
hair and skincare products, cosmetics, deodorants, sunscreens and
dental care products. In pharmaceuticals they are used as binders
for tablets and pellets, dissolving agents for injectables, flow
agents for capsules, dispersants for liquid medicine and pigments,
stabilizers for enzymes and heat sensitive drugs, and more. PVPs
have been used as excipients in more than one hundred drugs.
The other product lines are PVP/VA Copolymers, PVP Iodine Complexes
and other quaternized copolymers.
Arthur Hein, Vice President of Jarchem's Specialty Chemical Division,
says, "Jarchem is pleased to offer a comprehensive series of
